AL Vijay's last outing in Tamil as director was Thalaivii (2021) and seems like the filmmaker will next be joining hands with actor Arun Vijay for a movie. Arun Vijay is currently awaiting the release of Yaanai directed by Hari on June 17, 2022 and he also has films like Agni Siragugal, Borrder, Sinam and Boxer that await release. 

While Arun Vijay was heavily rumoured to be starring as antagonist in director Venkat Prabhu's Telugu film starring Naga Chaitanya, the actor's team has denied the same. Instead the actor is now expected to star as lead in AL Vijay's next. An official announcement on the same is however awaited.
