29TheFilm, the upcoming Tamil movie titled “29,” is directed by Rathnakumar and produced by Stone Bench Productions (Karthik Subbaraj) and G Squad (Lokesh Kanagaraj). The film is a nostalgic romance set in the pre-internet era, celebrating classic love stories before dating apps existed. The project was initially pitched to Dhanush, who liked the script and appreciated its nostalgic concept.

However, due to age constraints, he felt the role would have suited him better earlier in his career and recommended casting a younger hero, which led the team to approach young actors for the lead. The film stars Vidhu and Preethi Asrani, with Master Mahendran, Avinash, Shenaz Fathima, and Premkumar in supporting roles. The music is composed by Sean Roldan, with cinematography by Madhesh Manickam and editing by R S Sathish Kumar.
