Even before the release of Vikram on June 3, 2022, actor, producer of the film Kamal Haasan had stated that his production house Raaj Kamal Films International will collaborate with Suriya for a full-fledged movie. Post the release of Vikram in which Suriya appears in a 3 minute-cameo, Kamal Haasan publicly asked the actor to 'widen' the 'demography' formed for his Rolex character.

This was seen as an official confirmation of Suriya starring in a full-fledged movie as Rolex, to complete the Kaithi (2019), Vikram (2022) trilogy or the Vikram (1986), Vikram (2022) series. Now 4 days since the box-office rampage of Vikram, Kamal Haasan has unveiled a new video thanking his whole team (and fans) for the film's success. In it, he mentions,

"I plan on showing my thanksgiving procedure to my dear younger brother Suriya, who thrilled the theaters with only a 3 minute screen presence, with the next film we will be working on together."

This is once again being pegged as an official confirmation that Raaj Kamal Films International will be producing another Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, in which Suriya will play Rolex as a full fledged character.  Rolex is also said to be encountering Dilli (from Kaithi played by Suriya's brother Karthi) and characters from Vikram in this new movie.
