In the opening weekend box-office of USA, Vikram went on to become the highest Kamal Haasan grosser and the highest Tamil movie grosser in the last 2 years. Breaching Rajinikanth's unbeatable streak of many years, Vikram also entered the top 5 opening weekend gross by a Tamil movie in USA.

Vikram is now the only other non-Rajini movie in the top 10 list besides Vijay's Beast.
