Chiyaan 61 (tentative title) is actor Vikram's upcoming project with director Pa. Ranjith and Studio Green production house. The film was officially announced in December last year and has since been buzzed as a sports drama titled Maidaanam, with Vikram playing a body builder. 

While Pa. Ranjith has not commented on this part of the movie, the director during his visit to the French Riviera did confirm that Chiyaan 61 is based on Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). A period film about working class miners who discover gold in the 19th century, Maidaanam is also said to be showcasing how Tamils contributed to the growth of KGF from the British period to modern times.  

Chiyaan 61 is expected to begin shooting from July, 2022. An official announcement on the rest of the cast and crew is awaited.
