Thalapathy 66 is actor Vijay's upcoming movie with Telugu director Vamshi Paidiapally and shooting for this film is currently going on in Hyderabad, Telengana. On Sunday actor Prakash Raj who is reuniting with Vijay after years, treated fans to a new picture of the duo and captioned it with his famous dialogue from Ghilli (2004), a cult film of the Vijay, Prakash Raj combo.

Thalapathy 66 is also in the news for soon unveiling a second heroine; It is being suggested that a popular Tamil-Telugu actress has been roped in and she will be paired opposite Vijay's second character in Thalapathy 66 [It remains unknown if Vijay is playing dual roles in the movie].

Prabhu Deva who has previously directed and choreographed several Vijay movies is  buzzed to be part of Thalapathy 66 and he is said to be choreographing the opening song for the movie; Thalapathy 66 marks Prabhu Deva's reunion with Vijay after 13 years. 

Thalapathy 66 has Thaman for music and is produced by Sri Venakteshwara Creations. The movie is scheduled to release in theaters in January, 2023 for Pongal and also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Yogi Babu, Prabhu, actor Shaam (plays Vijay's elder brother in the movie), Sarathkumar (Vijay's father in Thalapathy 66), Telugu actor Srikanth and actresses Sangeetha, Samyuktha Karthik, Jayasudha among others.
