AK 61 (tentative title) is actor Ajith's third consecutive movie with director H. Vinoth, producer Boney Kapoor and the Zee Studios banner. Filming for this project kickstarted at Hyderabad and a huge set resembling Chennai's Anna Salai has been famously put up for shooting.

While Sarapatta Parambari actor John Kokken, Asuran actress Manju Warrier and Yogi Babu have been revealed to be part of AK 61's cast, latest addition seems to be actor Veerabahu (known mononymously as Veera).Veera has previously appeared in movies like Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Nadunisi Naaygal (2011) and Rajathanthiram (2015).

Touted to be a bank heist thriller, AK 61 has Ghibran for music and will see Ajith play a grey character. An official announcement on the movie's cast and crew is currently awaited.
