Mr. Local was a 2019 Sivakarthikeyan starrer produced by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and the actor has now moved Madras High Court claiming that he was paid only Rs. 11 Cr of the agreed Rs. 15 Cr. as remuneration. Sivakarthikeyan has also claimed that Gnanavel Raja did not remit TDS to the Income Tax Department for the paid Rs. 11 Cr and he ended up paying Rs. 91 lakh from his own pocket for the last 2 assessment years.

In an attempt to get his due of Rs. 4 Cr and Rs. 91 lakh, Sivakarthikeyan has urged the Madras High Court to restrain Gnanavel Raja from making further investments in Studio Green's ongoing projects like Chiyaan 61 (Vikram), Pathu Thala (Silambarasan TR, Gautham Karthik) and Rebel (GV Prakash). 

The actor has also requested the court to injunct Gnanavel Raja from transferring any rights of these three movies to film distributors or OTT platforms. The case comes for hearing on March 31, 2022 (Thursday).
