GV Prakash and Gautham Menon will be facing off each other in an upcoming crime drama titled Selfie, which revolves around the education mafia in Tamil Nadu. The movie is directed by debutant Mathi Maran (a former associate of Vetrimaaran) and is produced by DG Film Company in association with Kalaipuli s Thanu's V Creations. Today it was announced that Selfie will be releasing in theaters on April 1, 2022.

Also releasing in Tamil that Friday are Mirchi Shiva starrer horror-comedy Idiot and Venkat Prabhu directed Manmatha Leelai starring Ashok Selvan. Sony Pictures' Spider-verse movie Morbius which revolves around Jared Leto's titular character and his lab-experiment-gone-wrong form of vampirism is also releasing in Tamil (besides other languages) on the same day.
