Everytime actor Karthikeya Gummakonda has spoken about Valimai, he has said that when he joined the movie he expected it to be releasing only in Tamil and that the film became bigger later on. Now, director H. Vinoth has revealed as to how Valimai went on to become a PAN-India release.

TOI quotes H. Vinoth as stating, “Ajith sir told me..'I’m going to screen this film to my mom and dad, and my family, as I feel like a proud son after having made this film.' He has screened it for them, and it was only after seeing their response that our producer decided to release it in a big way in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada.”

Valimai is a solo release in Tamil this February 24, where as it is meeting Bheemla Nayak in Telugu and Gangubhai Kathiawadi in Hindi at the week-end box-office.
