Vaadivaasal is a promising project in actor Suriya's line-up and he is collaborating with director Vetrimaaran and producer Thanu for the same. Vaadivaasal has so far had a film announcement, title poster release and Vetrimaaran has previously said in the media that it would be a while before shooting for the movie begins.

Even at such a state, Sony Liv is said to be eyeing the exclusive OTT rights to the movie and are ready to cough up a whopping Rs. 50 Cr. for the direct release of Vaadivaasal on their platform. During the pandemic, it was Suriya's 2D Entertainment which pioneered the direct OTT release of Tamil films and the Suriya starrers that came out - Soorarai Pottru, Jai Bhim, have both been well received by the digital cine audience.

The OTT lure for Vaadivaasal seems to stem from this bankability of Suriya's, and it remains to be seen if Thanu's V Creations ends up striking a deal with Sony Liv.
