Movie theaters in Tamil Nadu going back to 50% occupancy and cinema halls in some parts of India shutting down completely, has lead to the postponement of upcoming January releases like S.S. Rajamouli's RRR and Prabhas' Radhe Shyam. However makers of Tamil film Valimai have made no alterations in their film's scheduled worldwide release on January 13, 2022.

The makers are ready to release the movie even if the 50% seating arrangement extends beyond January 10, 2022 in Tamil Nadu. However things might change if a night-curfew or a lockdown comes in place. Valimai starring Ajith in the lead will premiere in USA on January 12 (local time) and Hamsini Entertainment is presenting the film there.

An action thriller directed by H. Vinoth, Valimai produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios has been censored with an U/A, and comes with a run-time of 2 hours 58 minutes 35 seconds i.e. 178. 35 minutes.
