On December 23, 2021 Tamil movie Annaatthe starring Rajinikanth in the lead completed 50 days of theatrical run and marking the occassion, images of the actor presenting the team with gold chains have been going viral on social media. Annaatthe's music composer D. Imman, director Shiva, cinematographer Vetri, editor Ruben, stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan were among those who were present. 

Rajinikanth also shared two voice-notes on the social media platform Hoote marking the occassion. In one of the notes, the actor acknowledged the trouble the film faced and said,

"Initial reviews for the film were not satisfactory. Three days after the film's release, it started raining heavily. If it had rained on the day of release, how could people visit theatres? The film would have definitely failed.

 

Thankfully, Annaatthe did well .It would have done much better, if not for the rains. I am reminded of a dialogue from Baasha - God will test good people, but will never let them down."
