Jai Bhim actor Suriya thanks TN CM for his speedy gesture towards tribal community!

Recently Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met with 282 members of the tribal community in Chengalpattu district and granted Rs. 4.53 Cr. worth of government welfare assistance. Actor Suriya who has been voicing for the welfare of the tribes recently, took to twitter to acknowledge the speedy gesture of his CM. 

 

"By visiting the homes of poor tribals, honorable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has not just given crackers but a new lease of hope. It has given hope that a permanent solution will be found to the sufferings of these poor folks, which has continued over time.

 

We are amazed at the speed with which the needs of these poor people were taken stock of and fulfilled. Heartfelt thanks to the honourable Chief Minister for making this Diwali a memorable one. Sincerely, Surya"

 

Previously Suriya in the presence of his CM and his wife had gifted a cheque of Rs. 1 Cr. to  to Pazhankudi Irular Education Trust via Justice K Chandru. The actor's recent release Jai Bhim, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video is based on a true incident from K Chandru's lawyer days, and highlights the gross social inequality the tribal community of Tamil Nadu face.
