Atleast 3 new movies are gearing up for a direct OTT release this Diwali along with 3 first time digital premieres and here is a quick look at what these films are all about and where they can be watched:

1. Jai Bhim (Tamil) - November 2, 2021 - Amazon Prime Video

Jai Bhim had an early preview show for the trade and buzz is that the movie is beyond exceptional. Based on true events that happened in 1990s Tamil Nadu, the film's story follows the harrowing circumstances a tribal couple faces when the husband is arrested on false charges, and later goes missing from police custody. Against the odds, his wife turns to a senior advocate named Chandru, played by Suriya, who takes it upon himself to fight for their cause.

The movie is definitely intense and also stars Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Rajisha Vijayan, Manikandan and Lijo Mol Jose among others.

2. MGR Magan (Tamil) - November 4, 2021 - Disney Plus Hotstar

A comedy drama directed by Ponram, MGR Magan revolves around a villager who realizes that his family keeps boundaries with its members. Amidst his living hell, he also discovers that the village is in danger because of a man, who is on a mission to destroy the village mountain.

The movie stars Sasikumar, Sathyaraj, Samutirakani, Saranya Ponvannan, Mrinalini Ravi among others.

3. Gully Rowdy (Telugu) - November 4, 2021 - Disney Plus Hotstar

Originally released on September 17, 2021 this Sundeep Kishan starrer follows the life of Vasu who is trained to be a rowdy against his will. Things go wrong when he tries to help his love interest's family pull off a heist. The movie is a comedy meets crime thriller, also starring Neha Shetty, Rajendra Prasad, Bobby Simha, Mime Gopi, Vennela Kishore among others.

4. Sridevi Soda Center (Telugu) - November 4, 2021 - Zee 5

Another first time digital premiere, Sridevi Soda Center originally released on August 27, 2021 and revolves around Suri Babu (Sudheer Babu), a lightman who falls in love with Sridevi (Kayal Anandhi), a girl who runs a soda centre. While facing opposition from Sridevi's family owing to their different castes, Suri babu gets tangled in a murder case and how overcomes the struggle to win his love forms the rest of the story.

5. Doctor (Tamil) - November 5, 2021 - Sun Nxt, Netflix

This Sivakarthikeyan starrer has been all the rage in theaters for over a month and finally it is gearing up for an OTT premiere this Diwali. The story is about Varun, a military doctor whose betrothed tries to leave him. When he visits her to learn the reason, he finds out that a child is missing from their family and puts all his intelligence to use to save her and other girls from the human trafficking's chain. The dark comedy thriller is directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar. 

6. Meenakshi Sundareshwar (Hindi) - November 5, 2021 - Netflix

A romantic-comedy about a couple from South India, Meenakshi Sundareshwar follows two newlyweds who face the hassles, hiccups and hilarity that arise from their long-distance marriage, as they are forced to live apart due to a unique job prospect. Written and directed by Vivek Soni, the movie stars Abhimanyu Dassani and Sanya Malhotra in the lead and is produced by Karan Johar. Kollywood's Justin Prabhakaran has composed music for this film.
