On January 10, 2019, Ajith's Viswasam and Rajinikanth's Petta released simultaneously in theaters causing a major box-office clash during the Pongal holiday that year. 2 years later, Rajinikanth and Ajith are gearing up for a box-office clash once again, this time during the Diwali festival.

Annaatthe is scheduled to release in theaters on November 4, 2021 and latest buzz is that Valimai is gearing up to release on the same date. An official announcement on the same is currently awaited.
