Arrambam Songs Review
Arrambam brings together the successful combination of Yuvan, Ajith and Vishnu. It is known that Yuvan puts in additional care and attention for Vishnu and Ajith. This album is no exception. All lyrics are written by Pa. Vijay. The album running time is surprisingly short totaling just under 21 minutes with just 5 songs marked by conspicuous absence of Yuvan's hallmark BGM track.
1. "Adada Arrambame" is expected to be Ajith's mass introduction song. The song sung by Shankar Mahadevan has all the standard elements necessary to fire up the fan-base aimed at bringing the house down. The song is filled with advisory lyrics, pulsating beats providing the scope for Ajith to shake his leg along with an army of background dancers.
2. "En Fuse Pochu" is expected to be picturized on Arya. The song is devoid of complexity with minimal variations and a lot of focus placed on the playful lyrics. The interludes are pleasing while the lyrics wallows in downright silliness.
3. "Hare Rama" is our pick of the album. The song has addictive tune energetically sung by Tanvi and Shakthishree with right oomph and attitude. The song has seamless mix of Tamil and English lyrics. Yuvan will keep you completed hooked throughout the song.
4. "Melala Vedikudhu" is a familiar friendship song that we have seen in a number of Tamil movies from the past. The tune and lyrics are structured along predictable lines and reveals a bit more story who are interested in connecting the dots.
5. "Stylish Tamizhachi" picks up where Yuvan left off in his previous album, Biriyani. Rubba Bend raps effortlessly while Manasi hits higher notes. Will this be Nayantara's re-entry song?
Bottomline : 2013 has been Yuvan's comeback year. Arrambam is a middling effort weighed down by pedestrian lyrics. With Vishnu's penchant for great picturization and Ajith's magnetic screen presence, the songs will find a bit more thrust when watched along with visuals.
Album Rating: 6/10
