Edhiri Review - Craft on display but the film feels superficial!

Supposedly about mercy, Edhiri actually explores the futility of anger. The sombre mood of the film does sort of suck us in but the film is a mixed bag at best. You never really get invested with the emotions of the characters and you wonder why this film needed the actors that are a part of it. The film makes an important comparison between something you do in a fit of rage and the perennial anger that you consistently soak yourself in.
Edhiri feels like a worthwhile film because of the actors in it and also because Bejoy Nambiar does set up the mood well. But you never really feel the enormity of the emotions in play. Maybe the format isnt ideal to get us invested in such a short time but then again that is a call that the makers had to make!
 
There certainly is a craft on display in Edhiri but the film is superficial at best!
