Sun Pictures, producers of Dhanush's upcoming film D 44 (tentative title) have officially announced that veteran actor-director Bharathi Raja has joined the cast. D 44 is expected to go on floors from August 6, 2021 (Friday).

Directed by Mirthran Jawahar, the movie is said to take place in two time periods and Dhanush will be seen romancing Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar in these portions. D 44 has music by Anirudh.
