Sarpatta, directed by Pa. Ranjith and starring actor Arya in the lead is an upcoming period sports drama. The movie recently garnered a lot of attention for deciding to release directly on OTT; Latest we hear the film can be expected to make its digital premiere close to Independence day.

Sarpatta is expected to release on August 13, 2021 and Amazon Prime Video seems to be the streaming platform on which the movie will be made available. Previously we had reported that Zee 5 was in talks of closing a deal.

Sarpatta is set in the backdrop of the 1970s Madras. It is Pa. Ranjith’s first movie based on a sport and also stars Pasupathi, Dushara Vijayan, John Vijay, Kali Venkat among others.
