Maha producer issues statement on release controversy!

Tamil movie Maha starring Hansika in the lead and Silambarasan TR in an extended cameo has been in the making for 4 years now. Back in October 2020, the film was said to have wrapped shooting and but recently a controversy erupted after 'sources' representing film's director U.R. Jameel claimed the update to be false.

Apparently the film's wrap was hugely publicized to invoke business interest and Maha's producers even sought out some OTT platforms for a direct release. However U.R. Jameel took the producers to court claiming that the movie's shooting is incomplete and that the producers went edited and post-produced the movie without his knowledge.

Now Maha producers Etcetera Entertainment have issued a statement on the same. Acknowledging the court case, the producers claim that Maha was completed in February, 2021 and that the Madras High Court has so far issued no stay on the OTT release of the movie. The court case between the director and producer is up for hearing in June next.

It is worth mentioning here that U.R. Jameel claimed that Etcetra Entertainment carried out the post-production with the help of an AD named Vijay who worked on the movie for 10 days. He also said that editor John Abraham helped them too and that a whole song was added to the movie, keeping the director in the dark.
