Karthi starrer Sulthan produced by S.R. Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures is scheduled to release in theaters on April 2, 2021. The movie is also awaiting a trailer release this evening and had a grand preview of the same, at a Chennai theater today. 

Speaking at the event, producer S.R. Prabhu revealed that they had almost sold the film to Disney Plus Hotstar for a direct OTT release. But seeing how well Vijay's Master did in theaters, they revoked their decision. 

Sulthan directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan is simultaneously releasing in both Tamil and Telugu. The film stars Rashmika Mandanna as female lead and has Vivek-Merwin for music.
