Jagame Thandhiram, one of Dhanush's upcoming films was expected to release in theaters but producer of the film Sashikanth of Y Not Studios decided to go in for a direct OTT release on Netflix. While an official announcement on the film's release has not been made yet, Dhanush and his director Karthik Subbaraj sent the fans on an overdrive when they disassociated themselves from the OTT release decision.

Dhanush fans from Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Kumbakonam, Dindugal, Thoothukudi and several other regions were seen putting up similar posters that read,
