Almost two years ago, the first look of LTTE leader Prabhakaran's biopic Seerum Puli (Raging Tiger) was unveiled with actor Bobby Simha portraying the lead role. However the movie never saw the light of the day and now it is being said that the project is gearing up to go on floors soon.

Incidentally, the development also comes at a time when the public sentiment with respect to the India-Sri Lanka civil remains rekindled, thanks to the controversy surrounding Vijay Sethupathi and cricketer Muthiah Muralidaran's biopic 800.

Seerum Puli is directed by G. Venkatesh Kumar, a former assistant of director Balu Mahendra and is bankrolled by Studio 18. It is worth mentioning here that Venkatesh Kumar's earlier work Neelam, was banned by the CBFC as it was based on the Sri Lankan Civil War and the board thought that the film might affect the India-Sri Lanka relationship.
