Before lockdown shut the entire Tamil film industry from working, director Pa. Ranjith had announced a boxing film titled Salpetta where Arya and Bodhai Yeri Buddhi Maari actress Dushara Vijayan would play leads. The film is now all set to go on floors and reportedly shooting will start from September 15, 2020.

Kalaiyarasan, Magizh Tirumeni and Santhosh Pratap play important roles in Salpetta as well, which has Santhosh Narayanan for music and Anbariv for the action sequences. Co-written by novelist Thamizh Prabha, the movie is set against the backdrop of North Madras and is a production venture of Shreya Sri Movies.
