Dhanush's upcoming movie Jagame Thandhiram has been in the news the last couple of days for planning to have a direct release on OTT platform, bypassing movie theaters. Reports even went as far as claiming that the OTT premiere of the Karthik Subbaraj directed film is expected around Diwali, 2020.

However putting all these speculations to rest, producer Sashikanth of Y Not Studios has clarified that he very much is still intent on releasing the movie in theaters and not otherwise.

Touted to be a gangster-thriller, Jagame Thandhiram also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi and Hollywood actor James Cosmo among others. The film was expected to release on May 1, 2020 but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
