Back in 2016, Telugu actor Pawan Kalyan was pictured starting the official remake of Ajith starrer Vedalam with producer AM Rathnam and Jilla director RT Nesan. However, little is known about what happened to the project and now 4 years later it is being said that actor Chiranjeevi will be reprising Ajith's role in the Vedalam Telugu remake.

Director Meher Ramesh who had helmed the remake of Ajith starrer Billa in Telugu is said to be a part of this new revival as well. With Chiranjeevi's birthday fast approaching (August 22, 2020), an official announcement on this project is expected to be made.
