Mistakes in movies are common. Even much-talked-about international films have come under scrutiny for their visual faux pas and one can find 'n' number of articles and blogs pointing out to the same for Hollywood movies. Tamil Cinema has its own share of mistakes has escaped the scissor at the edit table and they can be classified into two categories:  

1. Continuity Errors   2. Knowledge-defying errors

Continuity mistakes are very vast and they happen in a matter of seconds; for example a character's standing position in consecutive frames or the time in a character's watch between frames. So unless one has been paying keen attention with a micro-lens, such mistakes can't be easily spotted. On the other hand, knowledge-defying mistakes consist of factual blunders and inaccuracies and they can be with respect to technology, timeline, or science.

There are couple of scenes sin Varanam aayiram where Krishnan, the father suriya's story was set in the period of 1980's but the mistake is we could see a CCTV Camera and Santro car which was found after 20 years.

Nanban - Windows 7 in 2001? and you tube ?

Similar to Varanam Aaayiram, Nanban seems to continue the same mistake mismatching timeline of technology used and the time period shown. The story was happening in 2001, where Windows 7 or Youtube was not invented however, our lead roles used it in the important scenes.

Kadhalar Dhinam - Wireless Montior (Technology) & Timeline

The film begins in the new year celebration 1999, where hero says his past story to a co-passanger, that has inaccuracy as there was a mail screen shot which dates to April 1999.

In another scene, Chinni Jayant the founder of fake profile, access a computer that is not literally connected  

Sivaji - Card Expired in 2007 yet, Sivaji managed to Get it live from 2010

Ghilli - Coca Cola Splashes
