It has been a while since director Pa. Ranjith announced his movie with Arya and since then the actor has been seen training his physique to play boxer in the movie. It was even revealed that the film is titled Salpetta and that it is set against the backdrop of North Madras. 

Latest update on this project is that Dushara, who made her Tamil debut with Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari, has been finalized as the female lead for this film. She will be seen paired opposite Arya in the movie that also stars Magizh Thirumeni, Kalaiyarasan among others.
