Actor Simbu aka STR kickstarted his long-awaited project Maanaadu with an official pooja ceremony today and images of the same are currently doing the rounds. A Suresh Kamatchi production, Maanaadu will star STR as Abdul Khaaliq in a political set-up and will be directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Kalyani Priyadarshan plays female lead in this film which also stars Bharathi Raja, S.A. Chandrasekhar, Manoj, Premji Amaren among others.
