In Chennai city, the film has crossed Rs. 2 cr mark on its opening day by earning Rs. 2.27 cr. Darbar marks the second film of Rajinikanth to have achieved this feat after 2Point0 which minted Rs. 2.64 cr. Vijay's Sarkar which collected Rs. 2.37 cr on Day 1 holds the second spot in this category.
