The cine musicians union of Tamil cinema aka Kollywood has reportedly been unhappy with composer Anirudh regarding the recording of Darbar's music. President of the union Dhina has called out Anirudh for using musicians from abroad i.e. non-members of the union in the place of local musicians.
Anirudh is also a member of the musicians' union and he had apparently earlier agreed to use local musicians as well, walking in the shoes of A.R. Rahman and Ilayaraja. However, Anirudh's use of only 4 local musicians, whose daily-livelihood depends on these work opportunities seems to have shocked the union.
Dhina has also said that just like Anirudh many composers in today's date are indulging in such practice and the union is planning is next move. “We are planning to pass a resolution in a month’s time, following which we might remove such erring composers from the union. We will be doing this with support from FEFSI and the Producers Council”, he was quoted as saying.
