Venkat Prabhu produced RK Nagar which was touted to be a political thriller was released on Netflix earlier today, much to the surprise of Tamil fans. The long-completed movie had not had a theatrical release and people had started speculating if the OTT premiere had anything to do with Venkat Prabhu's statement of "not releasing RK Nagar for reasons beyond our control".

Now, the Vaibhav starrer though listed under Netflix has been inaccessible in the Indian region [It is unclear if it is still accessible overseas]. It is also unclear if the makers are going for a theatrical release post this.

With a run-time of 2 hours and 12 minutes, RK Nagar also stars Sana Althaf and Sampath Raj among others and has been described as the tale of a 'struggling Chennai man' who falls for a politician's daughter and gets entangled in a murder case.
