Superstar Rajinikanth is celebrating his 69th birthday today with wishes pouring in from celebrities, political personalities and his fans across the globe. The 'Petta' actor is eagerly awaiting the release of 'Darbar' directed by AR Murugadoss which is set to hit the screens for Pongal 2020. Rajinikanth's next film tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 168' was officially launched yesterday with a formal pooja event. 

The latest buzz in Kollywood is Rajinikanth's next film 'Thalaivar 169' (tentative title) is likely to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj who is currently busy with the shooting of Vijay starrer Thalapathy 64. As reported earlier, Lokesh Kanagaraj has narrated a script and according to sources, Superstar has apparently given a green signal for the project. But that's not all. a rather interesting development has surfaced as the film is set to be bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. It is expected to be jointly produced by few other popular banners. While an official confirmation is awaited, the news has already excited the fans of these stars. 

Thalaivar 168 directed by Siva is bankrolled by Sun Pictures. The film boasts of an ensembe cast which includes Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Khusboo Sundar, Prakash Raj, Soori, Satish among other. The film touted to be a rural entertainer will have music by Imman.
