If the recent buzz is anything to go by, then director Gautham Menon may be teaming up with an actor he has never done a film before - Superstar Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth's Darbar is slated for a release in January, 2020 post which he is expected to begin shooting for Thalaivar 168 (tentative title) with director Siva.

Now, reports suggest that Gautham Menon who is said to have narrated a script to Rajini might be directing a film post the Siva movie i.e. Thalaivar 169. An official confirmation is however awaited on the same. It is worth mentioning here that when Menon was looking for a lead for Dhruva Natchathiram, word had it that he had narrated the script to Rajinikanth as well, though it was never confirmed or denied.

It is also worth mentioning that Vels Film International is lined-up to produce three of Menon's directorials, one of which is his heroine-centric movie with Anushka Shetty.
