Papanasam director Jeethu Joseph recently opened about Thambi, his upcoming Tamil movie with Karthi and Jyotika and he had quite some things to say about his movie. Jeethu has said that the core idea for Thambi stemmed from a documentary film and apparently Bollywood director Rensil D'Silva (Ungli, Kurbaan) had already written a feature film story from it. 

Jeethu added his own elements to this and developed Thambi to be a 'family drama thriller'. The director went on to reveal that there are 3 songs in the movie and despite being a thriller, Thambi will have ample amount of humour, action and sentiment.

Set in the background of Mettupalayam, Thambi also stars Sathyaraj, Seetha, Nikhila Vimal among others and is scheduled to release in December, 2019.
