A few days ago, Kamal Haasan finally admitted to have let go of his two decade old dream project Marudhanayagam in which he was supposed to play an 18th century warrior Mohammad Yusuf Khan. While Haasan maintained that the film will be revived under his banner still, someone else will be playing lead in it. 

Latest on this front is that actor Vikram who has earlier done Kadaram Kondan under Raaj Kamal Films International has been offered the lead role in Marudhanayagam. While nothing is sure as yet and Vikram is all set to don another period character (Ponniyin Selvan), the prospect does seem exciting for fans of the Chiyaan actor. 

It is also being suggested that if Vikram gives his go-ahead for the movie, the revived Marudhanayagam could take off by mid-2021 (right after the actor completes Vikram 58, Ponniyin Selvan).
