The day is finally here and Vijay's Bigil officially ran its first show in theaters at the time this publication. While on one hand the reviews for the movie have started coming in (catch ours here), on the other the producer of the film was busy thanking the Tamil Nadu government for allowing special shows for their Diwali release.
Information and publicity Minister Kadambur Raju had previously denied permission for any extra, early morning shows for both Bigil and Kaithi since they were releasing on a working day. He had even insisted theater owners to refund the money collected from pre-sales of such tickets.
However, late last night, producer Archana Kalpathi was seen thanking the Tamil Nadu government for allowing 'special shows' during the 'Diwali weekend' presumably from Friday till Monday.
A big thank you to our honourable CM and the Government of TamilNadu for allowing special shows for this Diwali Weekend 🙏🙏 😊
