Thalapathy 64, Vijay's upcoming project after Bigil was kick-started with an official pooja ceremony yesterday and as the shooting for the film began, it was revealed that director Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan, Aadai fame has penned for the film as an additional screenplay writer. Pon Parthiban is the other writer who has lent his pen to the script, conceptualized by Thalapathy 64 director Lokesh Kanagaraj. 

Director Rathna Kumar took to his social media page to share his delight on this opportunity and wrote, "Cant believe this..Joining hands with Thalapathy @actorvijay na sharing pen & paper with Dear friend @Dir_Lokesh as Additional Screenplay Writer. An XB Film Creations venture, Thalapathy 64 also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Anthony Varghese and Malavika Mohanan in key roles and plans to release by Summer, 2020. Composer Anirudh is scoring music for this film, making it his second collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi.
