The buzz that Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing villain in Thalapathy 64, Vijay's movie after Bigil has resurfaced and word has it that an official announcement on the same is expected to be made soon. Thalapathy 64 is a Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial and earlier it was said that Vijay Sethupathi, impressed with the script was trying to manage his dates for the 'exciting role' offered to him. 

Produced by XB Film Creators, Thalapathy 64 is aiming for a Summer, 2020 release and recently actress Malavika Mohan and a Tamil YouTubers from 'Nakkalites' and 'Eruma saani' were said to have been brought on board; an official confirmation on the same is however pending. 

Touted to be a gangster drama, Thalapathy 64 has Anirudh for music, Sathyan Sooriyan for cinematography and Philomin Raj for the edits.
