Asuran, Dhanush's upcoming film with director Vetrimaaran is gearing up for a release on October 4, 2019 and at this time, it has been revealed that the trailer of the movie will be unveiled on September 8, 2019. Set between 1960 and 1980, Asuran which is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu's V Creations is based on the Tamil novel Vekkai. 

 The film marks Malayalam actress Manju Warrier's Tamil debut and also starrs Pasupathi and director Balaji Sakthivel among others. Dhanush will be seen in dual roles of father and son and G.V. Prakash has composed music for this film.
