Dhanush's upcoming film with director Karthik Subbaraj which is tentatively going by D 40 has a major addition to its cast. In an official announcement, producers Y NOT Studios confirmed that Hollywood actor James Cosmo, who in recent times came to be known as the Night watch commander from Game of Thrones, has been roped in for an important role in the film.

Besides playing GOT's Jeor Mormont, Cosmo has significant roles to play in films such as Troy, Wonder Woman and Braveheart among others. On his casting, the film's producers wrote, "@MrJamesCosmo The legend behind many intricate roles in Hollywood is now to play a much anticipated role in our latest @dhanushkraja @karthiksubbaraj movie. Honoured to have you on board!"

Written by Karthik Subbaraj, D40 will also star Action heroine Aishwarya Lekshmi, Porinju Mariyam Jose star Joju George and Super Deluxe fame Master Ashwanth among others. The technical crew of this film includes Santhosh Narayanan for music, Shreyaas Krishna for cinematography and Vivek Harshan for the edits.
