V Studios produced Aadai starring Amala Paul in the lead was supposed to hit theater screens today but hours before its release, the shows for the film were cancelled in both Tamil Nadu and overseas. Financial tussle, a common reason for last minute cancellations of Tamil movie releases was said to be the reason for Aadai as well and the media has been closely monitoring the situation and when the film would eventually release.
As per the updates, Amala Paul was present for the talks between the film's financiers and the team and was even photographed outside Gemini Lab in Chennai, where the settlement talks were going on. It is being said that the actress who considers that Aadai will be a "game-chager" in her career has given up on her salary to enable the release of the film and ensure the receipt of KDM in theaters at the earliest.
Evening shows for the film are expected to begin screening starting 6 PM and the film is expected to open in 700+ screens. Aadai, censored A is directed by Rathna Kumar and also stars VJ Ramya, Bijili Ramesh, Vivek Prasanna, Sriranjani and Sarithran in important roles. The film has Pradeep Kumar for music, Vijay Karthik for cinematography and Shafique Mohammed Ali for the edits.
