Kochadaiyaan and release rumours keeping its buzz alive

The fans are turning more skeptical with numerous Kochadaiyaan false news and rumours flying around. The latest one going around on the net is that Kochadaiyaan first look teaser will release on Sunday, June 9th, which again turned out to be false.

Rajini's Next and Kochadaiyaan Release Date? 

Industry believes the Kochadaiyaan will release in January 2014. If everything works out well, the movie may see the daylight by Diwali or for Rajni's birthday (2013). Even though Rajini's involvement in the movie shooting was all completed more than a year ago, Rajini could not sign any new film until the release of Kochadaiyaan because of various factors. Based on hard lessons learned after shelving Sultan(2007), if Rajini signs a new movie, Soundarya knows very well that the media with their short attention span will shift their focus to the Rajini's next movie, leaving Kochadaiyaan on the wayside. 

Rumours Galore

Ever since Eros revived Kochadaiyaan almost 2 years ago (November 2011), here is a glimpse of news regarding release dates on major daily news networks that has kept the buzz around Kochadaiyaan alive, while most of them turning out to be false in hindsight.  

March 2012 (False) - Rajini expressed "We're trying our best to release Kochadaiyaan for Diwali (Nov 2012)"

July 2012  (False) - "Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan will be seeing the light of day on a unique day. The magnum opus earlier announced to be released on Diwali, is likely to release on 12.12.12, coinciding with the superstar's birthday on December 12"

September 2012 (False) - The audio with AR Rahman's music is slated to release in Tokyo around the last week of October preceded by full-fledged promotions following Dussehra on October 24th. EROS has planned to market the movie coming up with blitzkrieg ideas (phones, comics, video games, etc.).

February 2013 (Partially True) - The final edited version of the film was viewed by the director, writer and the lead actor along with handful crew members. Audio will release soon.

March 2013 (Partially True) - Eros announced the release date of July 2013. ATMUS Entertainment acquired the US theatrical distribution rights of Kochadaiyaan for a record highest price ever paid for any Tamil movie in USA. 

April 2013 (False) - Rajinikanth to unveil 'Kochadaiyaan' at Cannes to the world audience. Before that, the team is preparing for a first look teaser release for Tamil New Year, on April 14th.

May 2013  (True) - The trailer release of Kochadaiyaan at Cannes film festival was called off at the last minute. 

June 2013 (False)-  Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan trailer hitting internet on June 9th (Sunday)

Are these rumours happen by design or chance?

As one could see, every news and false reports in the last year has been designed to give an impression that the movie release will happen within the next 3 months. It leads one to believe that Kochadaiyaan team may be giving fodder to media in the form of both news and rumours so that Kochadaiyaan is not forgotten in people's minds by the time it releases.
