Disappointing Box Office performance of NGK

Selvaraghavan - Suriya's NGK has completed its one week theatrical run at the box office. The film which got a decent start on its opening day could not sustain its momentum at the box office. The box office performance of the film has witnessed a sharp decline from last Monday and the film has managed to gross around Rs.44 Cr at the end of its first week in India. 


While the Tamil Nadu market has been the only savior for the film as it has put up a decent show (considering the film had own release in TN), other domestic markets like AP/TG, Kerala and Karnataka have been a huge disappointment for the film. It is shocking to see AP/TG performance have been worse as we all know Suriya has a good market in Telugu Film industry next to TN.    



Here is the region wise breakup (Gross):
  • Tamil Nadu: ₹31 crore
  • Ap/TG: ₹8 crore
  • Karnataka: ₹3.25 crore
  • Kerala: ₹1.5 crore
  • Rest of India: ₹0.3 crore

 

The film is estimated to have touched Rs. 50 cr mark including its overseas box office collection. The film is struggling at the overseas box office as well. Few key overseas distributors have reportedly faced a huge loss as the film could not even recover the P&P costs.
