Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara starrer Mr. Local directed by M. Rajesh of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi fame, has opened to mixed reviews from the audience and critics. The film in its opening weekend had grossed around Rs. 14 Crore in Tamil Nadu.

After getting a decent start on day 1 (Rs. 5.75 Cr), it had a little drop in its consecutive days and other markets like Kerala or Karnataka did not give any major contribution to its box-office. Altogether, Mr. Local had a combined average gross of less than 90 lakhs in these states.

With poor word of mouth, the Sivakarthikeyan starrer sustaining at the box-office is highly doubtful. The only hope however is that at least for next two weeks till May 31 (when NGK is releasing), no big films are scheduled that could be potential box-office competition. The film can sustain until then and have its free run at theaters.
