Game of Thrones writers face backlash from GOT actors, fans for Season 8!

American TV series Game of Thrones is only mere days away from airing its final episode of its final season and the disappointment that has loomed large over their finale series may have reached it last straw. As reported earlier, a lot of viewers were hugely let down by Season 8's penultimate episode 'The Bells' due to the twists brought about in some main characters.

This has now resonated in one of the ongoing online petitions created for urging HBO to remake GOT's season 8 with "competent writers." This said petition started by one Dylan D has been circulated under the title "Remake Game of Thrones Season 8 with competent writers" and has found over 2 lakh supporters so far.

The writers David Benioff and DB Weiss (dubbed D&D by GOT fans) have also been facing criticism from their own actors for some of them have been quoted in the media as follows:

  • Gwendoline Christie (Brienne from GoT)"I took a walk after I read it (the script)..I know it’s just a character..I never assumed they (Brienne and Jamie Lannister) would be together. I didn’t think that would happen. And now I can feel a million hearts breaking,”

  • Lena Headey on Cersei Lannister agreeing to sleep with Euron:  “I kept saying, ‘She wouldn’t, she wouldn’t, that she would keep fighting,’ but (D&D) obviously know what they’re doing and were adamant Cersei would do what she had to do.”

  • Emilia Clarke (on Daenerys' sudden rampage): "..Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavour in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is ...It (the ending of her character) f**cked me up.....”
