Moodar Koodam Naveen claims he was threatened by the family of Rajinikanth's son-in-law!

Actor-director-producer Naveen who is best known for his film Moodar Koodam was gearing up for another release titled Alaudhinin Arputha Camera when he received a court stay that prohibited the screening of his film in theaters. This opened up a box of revelations by Naveen and a producer named Swarna Sethuraman who was the one who obtained the stay against the said film.

According to Naveen, Swarna Sethuraman of Flash Films had approached the director in 2016 for a film to be made on his nephew Vishagan, who also happens to be Rajinikanth's son-in-law. However post script-narration and a fair amount of pre-production work, the producers decided to not go ahead with the film (reasons for which were not revealed by Naveen deeming it was personal for the producers).

Officially, Naveen and Flash Films had a first-copy basis agreement which meant that a particular amount would be paid inclusive of all expenses in three stages to the director and he would have to adjust all expenses (his own salary included) within that particular amount. However, Naveen claims that post their decision to drop the film, Swarna Sethuraman threatened the director to pay Rs. 20 lakh back in the presence of Raghulan, another uncle of Vishagan's.

Naveen claims, “I have no issues with Vishagan or Ragulan. In 2017 Swarna Sethuraman informed me that Vishagan has gone back to the US and the project will not move further...He (the producer) is accusing me for not completing my script.. All I want you (media) to do is to call Vishagan and ask whether I narrated him the script or not. I still believe Vishagan will tell the truth.”
On the other hand Swarna Sethuraman, in a press release has claimed that they never received a bound script in 10 months despite payment of Rs 45 lakh in cheque and Rs 5 lakh in cash to the director. He has also alleged that Naveen went on US trips (which the director claims was location-hunting) and never attended the arbitration with the Producers' Council when the matter was taken up with them (Naveen has debunked this claim).
