Raghava Lawrence's horror comedy "Kanchana 3", which released on April 19, has opened to mixed reviews. However, the film has still managed to pull the family audience, which has resulted in a fantastic opening for the film.

The film, on its opening day, had grossed Rs. 10.1 crore in Tamil Nadu, which is on par with what usually a biggie would collect. In Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, the movie is said to have grossed close to Rs. 6 crore.

The trade pundits say that factors like summer holidays, family/kids-friendly genre along with Kanchana's franchise image are favouring the film's box office performance. With Avengers releasing in the upcoming week, we'll have to wait and watch how long this film would be able to cast its magical spell at the box office.
