Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam gets Torch Symbol for Lok Sabha Elections

The Election Commission has allotted Kamal Haasan’s political party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) battery torch as a symbol to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the same was updated by the actor via his personal twitter page.

MNM thanks the Election commision for granting us the "Battery Torch" symbol for the forthcoming elections. So appropriate. @maiamofficial will endeavour to be the “Torch-Bearer” for a new era in TN and Indian politics.

The actor had earlier announced that MNM which was launched in February 2018 will contest for all 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and 1 in Puducherry, on its own. However, details of the candidates who will be contesting is yet to be made official.

This is MNM's debut at the elections and Haasan himself is expected to be contesting for one of the seats.
